The Bulldog Reporter recently launched a newsletter, "Daily 'Dog," that offers insight from the best PR pros in the country.
Today's edition features an excellent article centered from Aaron Brown's dismissal from CNN. Keith Kelly of the New York Post offers advice on establishing inroads with TV personalities and producers.
A sampling of Kelly’s sage insight:
"When Aaron was in trouble, a PR person could have cooked up some real exclusive stuff and he might have been more open [for example]. It's hard to say, 'Hey, I know you're in trouble.' But recognize competitive situations in the media and realize that it's a tense business. Everybody is trying to get ahead. Another good example is that I'm always trying to beat out the Times, Daily News and Journal on my beat. News is fiercely competitive. If you have breaking news, a study, major appointment or shake-up—we'll fight for it."
Right on, Keith.
